Face Lift / Rhytidectomy

A rhytidectomy, more commonly known as facelift surgery, is a surgical procedure that addresses loose skin on the face and neck by tightening the underlying tissues, repositioning fat pads, and removing excess skin. While facelifts are commonly performed on individuals between the ages of 40 and 65, they can also be suitable for older patients.

A facelift aims to reduce visible signs of ageing by addressing the shape of the face and neck. Facelift surgery can be combined with other procedures such as a brow lift, eyelid surgery, or rhinoplasty. However, the bone structure of the face remains unchanged.

Non-surgical treatments like chemical skin peels, dermabrasion, or skin resurfacing can also be performed alongside a facelift. These treatments target issues such as sun damage, crow’s feet, and fine wrinkles around the eyes and mouth, which a facelift alone may not address.

Types of facelift:

  • The deep plane facelift is an advanced technique designed to address sagging skin and deep-set wrinkles by repositioning the deeper layers of facial tissue. Unlike traditional facelifts that focus primarily on tightening the skin, this method lifts the underlying muscle and connective tissue to provide a longer lasting effect. It is particularly effective for addressing the mid-face, jawline, and neck.

  • The mini facelift is a less invasive procedure that targets early signs of ageing, such as mild sagging and jowls. This technique involves shorter incisions and a quicker recovery time compared to a traditional facelift, making it ideal for patients seeking subtle rejuvenation. The mini facelift is often recommended for individuals in their 40s and 50s who wish to address their appearance without undergoing extensive surgery.

  • A traditional facelift provides comprehensive rejuvenation by addressing moderate to severe sagging in the face and neck. This procedure involves lifting and repositioning the skin and underlying tissues, removing excess skin, and tightening the facial contours. The incisions are carefully placed around the hairline and ears to minimise visible scarring. The traditional facelift is ideal for patients seeking significant changes in their facial appearance.

Neck lift

A neck lift, medically known as a platysmaplasty or cervicoplasty, is a surgical procedure designed to address the appearance of the neck by tightening loose skin, removing excess fat and underlying tissues, tightening the platysma, and addressing the definition of the jawline. Neck lifts are commonly performed on individuals over the age of 40, but they may also be suitable for younger patients with concerns about loose skin or excess fat in the neck area.

The procedure can address:

  • Loose skin on the neck

  • Excess fat deposits under the chin, commonly known as a double chin

  • Vertical bands or muscle laxity in the neck

  • Loss of definition along the jawline

A neck lift can be performed alone or in combination with other procedures such as a facelift or chin augmentation to address overall facial harmony. However, it does not address the upper or mid-face.

Buccal Fat Removal

Buccal fat removal is a cosmetic procedure that reduces excess fat in the cheeks, addressing facial definition and creating a more sculpted appearance. By carefully removing a portion of the buccal fat pads located in the lower cheeks, this technique helps to slim the face and accentuate the cheekbones and jawline. The procedure is performed through small incisions inside the mouth, leaving no visible scars. It is commonly combined with neck liposuction.

MyEllevate

MyEllevate is a minimally invasive neck contouring procedure that could provide results without the need for extensive surgery. Using a light-guided suture system, this technique lifts and supports the underlying muscles and glands of the neck. MyEllevate is performed using small punctures, resulting in minimal scarring and downtime, making it an ideal option for patients seeking a quick and effective neck rejuvenation.

Facial Fat Grafting

Facial fat grafting is a surgical procedure designed to address facial volume and facial contours by transferring fat from one area of the body to the face. The procedure involves harvesting fat through liposuction, purifying it, and injecting it into specific facial areas. This technique can address facial hollows and reduce wrinkles by rejuvenating the skin. Facial fat grafting can fill cheekbones, fill under-eye hollows, and refine jawline contours, and improve the appearance of facial skin. The procedure is often combined with other treatments such as facelifts, eyelid surgery, or skin resurfacing to achieve comprehensive rejuvenation.
