Medical Consultation and Management
We provide consultation for gastroenterology and hepatology through a comprehensive assessment that include history taking, diagnostic investigations (blood tests, faecal stool tests, imaging tests), procedural investigations (endoscopy and colonoscopy) and management (medical treatment) with follow-up. This expert opinion and recommendations are then fed back to your general practitioner and other related allied health practitioners where required.
Where a surgical opinion is required, we have a collaborative group of general surgeons, upper gastrointestinal surgeons, hepatobiliary surgeons and colorectal surgeons within our practice that we could facilitate a referral to assist with surgical management.
Open Access Endoscopy and Colonoscopy
When a referral is made by your general practitioner to the specialist doctor, the referral is often reviewed by our experienced administration team and at times also by the specialist themselves. This allows a triage and timely provision of service to patients who are experiencing significant symptoms to access urgent care.
In patients who are otherwise fit and healthy with no other medical conditions, bowel screening procedures including endoscopy and/or colonoscopy could be provided via an “open access” approach.
For patients undergoing Open Access procedures, our administration team will require you to complete the necessary Patient Information Forms, undergo Informed Financial Counselling and upfront Payment (patients without private health insurance) and bowel preparation information will be provided.
For patients with a private health insurance with hospital cover, we offer a “no-gap” service. This means our anaesthetists and proceduralists are paid directly by your insurance. As we do not charge above the insurance payment rate, patients do not have any “out of pocket” fees. The only fee applicable is the hospital excess charge as per your insurance policy.
